Just got back from making a deposit at the bank and we had a really close call so I thought I would post about something I try to do that has saved us from wrecks in the past and for sure saved us today. When the cars in front of you stop suddenly I will break just a little harder then them to give myself a "safety space" in front of me. Then, as we are slowing down to stop I will glance in the rear view mirror to see if the person behind me is paying attention. If they are late in stopping, I will roll forward slightly into my safe zone to give them some extra stopping distance. If you stop right up against the guy ahead of you, you have no where to go. Learn to use the "safe zone" when stopping. It may save you from having an accident. It did for Kathy and me today.
